The largest city in Oklahoma State, Oklahoma City is very well known for cowboy culture and its working oil wells. Being one of the most popular cities in the US, the city is known to have several major colleges that are ranked highly in the country. 

It has over 50 private and public colleges and universities. This basically provides wide academic opportunities and professional studies that you can enroll for. Here is the city’s top 3 colleges based on the latest education rank data.

1. Carl Albert State College

Abbreviated as CASC, the Carl Albert State College is situated in Poteau, which is in the southern of the Oklahoma City. Founded in 1933, the college was originally called Poteau Junior College, before I was renamed after the Speaker of the House, Carl Albert back then. The main campus is located at Poteau and a smaller campus located in Sallisaw.

The college offers a little bit over 28 different degree programs that include Art, Business administration, Child Development, Nursing, Pre-medicine, Physical Therapist and several others. With an enrollment of about 3000 students annually, the college has a student to faculty ratio of about 15 to 1.

CASC has over the years partnered with various leading local universities like Mid-America Christian University, Northeastern State University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. This has allowed the college to offer several bachelor’s degree programs.

The college’s teams are the Vikings and it participates in the collegiate baseball and softball.

2. Northern Oklahoma College

The Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) has 3 campuses with the main campus being located in Tonkawa, 1220 East Grand. The additional 2 campuses are Enid, 100 South University Avenue and Still Water, 1118 West Hall of Fame. The community college had acquired the former Philips University which is now referred to as Enid Campus.

The Tonkawa Campus that serves as the administration center for the NOC oversights various programs. The programs include student services, finance, personnel and IT among others. Establisged in 1901, the Tonkawa Campus, is also the home of Eleanor Hays Art Gallery, KAYE-FM radio station, North Oklahoma Botanical Garden and Arboretum and the A. D. Buck Museum of Science and History.

Established in 1999, the Enid Campus has grown to offering several 2-year liberal arts degree to over 1100 students each semester. Nursing, Business Administration, Pre-medicine and social sciences are
among the popular degree courses offered in the campus.

The Still Water Campus was started in 2003 and serves primarily students who would not get an opportunity to be admitted at Oklahoma State University. The campus admits about 300 students in fall and spring semester, therefore serving about 1700 students in total.

3. Redlands Community College

The Redlands Community College (Redlands) is located in El Reno and has a student enrollment of about 2200 students each semester. Established in 1938 as El Reno junior college, it went on to receive accreditation to be a two-year institution. 

Before relocation to its current 1300 South Country Club Road location, the college was based at an old post office found in the Rogers and Bickford street. They are currently situated on a 37acre space with 7 major building complexes.
